June Game of the Month Scores

I just finished scoring the June games.

Please note that the site is now hosted at http://home.ptd.net/~mpcasey/ since I've changed internet providers. Ellestar, if you're out there, please send me the galciv.reallyrules.com login! :p

I should have a new game up for you in a few days, and the site will soon link to June AARs.

Feel free to discuss whatever you'd like in this thread now that the competition is over.

Hope you all enjoyed it, and good luck on the next one!

Suggestion for next GOTM. Get everyone to play towards the same victory condition. Then we would be able to compare ourselves against more players rather than just one or two.

I like Ray's idea. Diable all but one of the victory conditions. I played the June game but didn't submit because it took an embarassingly long time to win on normal difficulty.

"While Galaxor and Yellow Sign appear to be tied, Galaxor has a higher score by a mere fraction of a point."

(:( LOL

Hmm...a nice surprise...and how close...how very, very close.... :D
With that result, I´m really looking forward to the next GOTM, thank you, Michael, and keep the games coming...you have a new one at hand, don´t you?!
The idea to include some rules or limitations about alignments, victory conditions or something else sounds good...shouldn´t be too restrictive though...

Okay, by popular demand we'll reduce the number of victory conditions. I know June was a pretty plain-vanilla game, but it was just because it's the first time I was running it and I didn't want things to be too complex.

I can see why Stardock has so much trouble scoring for the metaverse. It's hard to balance scoring for speed versus development; for instance--no offense LDiCesare--I think Ray should've won by a much larger margin than he did, but his mil/tech/soc/econ scores lagged far, far behind.

The easiest thing to do would just score time, but I feel there should be SOME incentive to not just rush rush rush to victory.

Again, if anyone has ideas on this, I'm all ears.

Galaxor: I'm going to try to get one up tonight, depending on how busy I am. Should be up by tomorrow night (Eastern USA time) at the latest.
