Which order should I play the Sins of a Solar Empire games?

"New" to the game and want to have the best experience.

Hey,

I am not completely new to the game, i remember years and years ago I played a SoaSE game and i still have my Galactic Civ games here; but that was all before I had any idea what I was doing or could understand any sort of story.

Question is simple one, Which order should I play the Sins of a Solar Empire Games? -- I have Rebellion and Trinity (Steam) and want to have the best experience possible from playing the games.

Thanks in advance.

Well since Sins is basically a sandbox game there really isn't much content reason to play any of the earlier games. You may find it easier to learn the basics in trinity and then when you can beat an easy or normal AI jump to Rebellion so you can focus on just figuring out the new stuff. On the other hand if you're more the jump into the thick of things kind of person, there really isn't any harm in just starting with Rebellion either.

If you're big on the story the intro videos are the main other thing that is different, but I'd just recommend watching any of the three you missed (Original, Trinity, Rebellion) on Youtube.  ;)

So how does Galactic Civ II fit into the whole pantheon? I own GalCiv II Twilight of the Arnor but nothing else. I think I briefly played Sins on a friends machine once several years ago.

Is there a repository of good Mods for Gal Civ II? Does anyone still play it? There doesn't seem to be a section on this forum for that game.

Sorry about this, meant to tick the "email me when some body replies.' Might not be hanging out here too much :)

The order the Sins games were released are SotSE (or as we call it Original Sins), Entrenchment, Diplomacy, and Rebellion. If you want to play them in order then that is the order. Though like Gofan said there really is no need to, because every expansion has the content of the previous expansions in it. So you can play Rebellion, and not miss anything from the previous expansions. The only major changes to the game were from Original Sins to Entrenchment, and From Diplomacy to Rebellion.

Gal Civ doesnt fit in here at all (other than being a Stardock Game). He was just making an example of order of expansions.
