Bye, Bye Stardock!

I will not spend my hard earned money on a product that expires!!

As of late, I have had to reinstall my Windows a few times because of the 8.1 update etc.  As a result, I have to re-download my purchases.  No longer will I be subject to "maximum activation" problems.  I have made it my goal to tell all my friends not to buy Stardock software and will continue to admonish them about this b.s way of getting more money.  When I purchase a product in the real world I don't have to pay for it twice.

If you hit the max activation limit then contact [email protected] who should be able to assist as the message should say.  As long as you are using the same machine (the EULA says 1 PC) then they should be able to reset it for you.

You would have had to reinstall Windows quite a few times in order to hit the limit.

It is worth noting that reinstalling and activating Windows would also hit MS activation limits and require you to phone them at the very least.  Most products which use activation will have blocked you from automatic activation if you activate over and over again on new Windows installs.

If you are only installing something as a short term test then perhaps the best plan is to use the trial option until you are sure the machine is working correctly and then activate it.  You have 30 days trial.

As Neil noted, you don't. Nobody expects anyone to purchase another copy just because they reinstalled Windows. All you need to do if you encounter that is ask support for a reset.
