Rebellion exe doesn't work - but Rebellion Dev.exe works fine

Hi,

 

I have got a Problem. I've bought Rebellion via Steam. If I want to start the game via Steam it doesn't work. The Screen stays black. After 1-2 seconds I can hear a beep. If I type ESC 2 times, the Loading canceled and I get a .mdmp-File, which i can't read. I've installed Steam und Rebellion new, but there is still the same Problem.

But if I'm using "Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion Dev.exe" it works fine. No Problems, but if I'm using mods there are so much error Messages, that it's not playable.

 

Any suggestions?

typically the exe will load full screen and the dev will load window mode.

Go to

C:\Users\[UserName]\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting\rebellion.user.setting

a few lines down you will see

VideoIsWindowed TRUE
VideoRefreshRate 60
VideoFullScreenWidth 1920
VideoFullScreenHeight 1080
VideoWindowedWidth 1024
VideoWindowedHeight 768

what does yours read?

 

IIRC the second line changes and the file rewrites when you load the DEV

Version 241

is for normal exe

Version 1241

is the DEV exe
