I would counter that with why be part of a rise at all? Be part of the slowest moving empire in the metaverse The one that was #1 for the past month except for the mwc's 15 minutes of fame after which they reassumed their rightful place 5th. Oh and since they haven't submitted all that much in awhile I'm sure we'll see some mass submissions coming in and yet another claim of "The quickest rise"


Their slander of both of our proud empires must not go unpunished.

I personally think "The Republic should retain it's own identity. We need another theme empire in this metaverse. However, if they are to merge, G.R.O.S.S., is the empire they should merge with. Or perhaps the White Council.

I would have to agree with that statement. you guys are just starting out. Why merge without a go at it? Believe it or not we thought once of merging with the mwc. Ultimately, most members of G.R.O.S.S. wanted to keep our identity. The MWC felt the same. So I can't fault you for choosing the same path as we.

I can't speak for them but it prides me to see that the one who was bashing the Republic so fiercely before I "butted" in, is now supposedly their best friend who wants them to retain their identity and or at least merge with you. You make me laugh and yet proud at the same time that you can be so quickly turned by a simple message of alliance and cooperation that I delivered to the Republic. Its good to see you're just as deceptive and evil as always.

I would like to publicly announce that in preparation for this conflict I have taken the innitial steps in creating an Army of the Republic. I have also requested of the senate that I be granted temporary emergency powers, during the conflict that I will take on reluctantly, and hand down as soon as this terrible war is concluded.

What's the worse that can happen? The Republic merges with someone (it matters not who) and sees its members getting fed to the vultures. Many will go to the stronger merger partner, inactive members will be lost in limbo, and a few may even stay as independents or go to a third empire yet. Heck, as far as I am concerned, they could join anyone else and it is not an issue.

What does concern me, frankly speaking, is that an MWC vulture, a GROSS vulture, and who knows how many vultures-in-waiting are swooping in looking for carrion. Not only did fogman invest time making an empire and a theme for it, but the members worked hard and added their efforts to get to be a real name on the map. And I also invested some time to better define the personality of the Republic and to encourage them to be an entity like no other. It just pains me to see this identity with so much potential get swallowed up in merger mania, no matter who the partner is.

So, leaving some big egos out of the picture, the whole ball of wax for the Republic is: are you going to stand up and fight, to continue making a name for yourself, or are you going to thrown in the towel and let someone else control your destiny?

Very good decision! You know the old Romans use to do dole out dictatorships during times of crisis. The difference is of course, the dictator was never the person already in charge. It was instead learned farmers that took over the reigns of the country to lead them to glory.

Since such a man has not stepped forward, it only makes sense that you take the post that so needs to be filled. As for the second part, that is what everyone needs to hear, for you to return to your post after the war is over.

I hereby wish to qualm any notion that we are surrendering or otherwise merging with ANY power, nor do I ever plan to. We shall remain an individual power in the universe, and until drastic changes occur I dont see that changing. Secondly, I wish to calm the fears of my citizens or senate members that I will sell out. I won't, we will not give in to this. We will fight on any battlefield to maintain our individuality.

There is another war raging in the 5th dimension and that is one between theme and locality empires.

Continue to be true to your theme and have fun. Only even consider merging your empire if you are moving on and that should be a merger with another theme empire.

And don't get me wrong, they are still a joke. But I'm a sucker for giving lame empires a chance to join us. I gave another lamoid empire that chance some time ago.........They chose to remain lame too. Oh well. No skin off our nose.
