A clever name for a home repair business?

A clever name for a home repair business?

Sugestions wanted.

So I have some extra time on my hands and decided to start a home repair business. I know there are a lot of clever and imaginative members here that are great with naming things such as skins so I thought it made sense to ask for your help. Can you think of a clever home repair name. I am trying to avoid something with handyman.

I can't wait to hear what you come up with. :)

Love that idea syd!   :inlove:

There's room on the right for a picture of you (NOT your avatar...not a good advertising ploy, that)...I'd go with a 'flattened' type image with you turned 1/4 to the right...send it to me (pm) and I'll adjust it suitably (Photoshop, yes...just not my usual ;) ). Also...to the image, your twitter/face book/website and business phone have to be added in Myriad font (the RRR should be "friendly" the rest is "business"...a charcoal rectangle with yellow font hue should be good.

It could dovetail nicely with an advertising flyer along the lines of "From my family I learned the three R's and I've added two of my own: Rapidly and Responsibly...."

Ken, you need a business plan, and you should probably be talking with a consultant and a real graphics person. I'd recommend Lesa Snider (Boulder, CO. https://www.facebook.com/photolesa - if you'd like, I can help in connecting you guys up).  ;)

And...you didn't tell me your thoughts regarding the word 'Rapid' in the sign.

If you want it to stand out more, not a problem. I'll just add an adjustment layer.

I would say leave it out, I think it is to many R words. I like the second color better too. Are you able to add a drop shadow to the letters so they will stand out more? I think the light colors blend in with the background so perhaps a black drop shadow would help. Thanks Doc. I know you are working hard on this for me.

LOL...there is one. It's subtle. I can increase it, no problem...or...add outer glow, blend mode 'multiply'.

This mock up includes the other stuff I added to reply #76. And you're most welcome, Ken.

Boxxi, I don't get it?

Doc, I like the paler colors also...and not the orange lettering....inless the background was in black and white.

Barb: Try 'Robbing Bastard'...similarity of sound? ;)

Doc I think you got it. The only thing I might change is moving the Restore up or moving Renovate down so there is even space between the words. Sorry, I am not only a perfectionist with my work but with my advertising too.

Whatever is pleasing to you is fine...:)

I'll organize the psd and send you a link later. I'd talk with a graphics person though, before I proceeded

with actual printing, etc. I'm a total amateur and this is something you really want to get right. These graphics would certainly

give him/her a good starting point as to what you want, though.

That got it Doc. I have a friend that can check it out but I think you did a great job. I owe you one.

Ken and syd, thanks. From the heart.

I used supposedly free clip art via Google image search for free clip art. I didn't bother examining all the TOU's because the images are partially covered, and no one's using them for commercial gain. I do want that clear. While the collage is my work, the images themselves are not. I only did this to help you crystallize ideas and to encourage folks to play with graphics and Photoshop.

You truly need professionals - graphics and consultants...the stuff I did is truly amateurish - they have zillions of images they've paid for, etc. They also know one helluva lot more about graphics than I do. I suggested Lesa Snider for very good reasons. She'll put together a product that'll make mine look like etch-a-sketch...which it would be next to hers. She teaches Ps, is a photographer, lectures about it at Mac Week and other really impressive places...like Julianne Kost, Dave Cross, Ben Willmore, Khara Plicanic. They are the instructors on creativeLive.

I only hope she doesn't hit me when she takes one look at what I did and barfs.

Please do right by yourself. OK?

Doc thanks for the contact but as I mentioned I have a friend that lives close to me that is a great graphic artist and he will do something for me for free. I could have asked him to do me something from scratch but he is really busy right now. I would also like to use your work so I am sure he can take it and do any necessary tweaks.
