Can't empty trash from Quicklaunch Dock

Hello,

I purchased ObjectDock last week. I've been living with a cluttered desktop for a long time and thought I wouldn't like it empty. But I really like it.

My OS is Windows 8.1 running on a HP Touchsmart Envy laptop. My problem is that I added the trash bin to the Quicklaunch Dock and found at first that, if I emptied the trash bin from elsewhere, the icon on the dock still showed as full. Then, I tried emptying the trash directly from the dock and it didn't work. I've deleted it from the dock and have it back on the desktop. I thought someone might be interested in hearing about this.

I searched the forum and found entries going back a few years reporting the same problem but none recently.

I also found that I couldn't add the Control Panel by dragging and dropping it onto the same dock. Maybe I was just not doing it correctly but apparently I couldn't find a way to do it.
