Cant See any thing other than the UI

Black screen, no environment or objects showing, just ui

I start a game and the screen is black except when my cursor happens to move over a ship or planet or other object, in which case it shows the name tag and i can click on it. other than that, the environment and objects are not showing, just a black screen. The mini-map is showing and the rest of the UI is also showing. I can also go into the sections on diplomacy and research etc.

I hope hope someone knows what is happening, is it because I don't have a good graphics card?

I have the same problem, and I understand others are as well.

I've got a fairly low end integrated graphics card (ATI 3300), but all the drivers are up to date and it's running DirectX11.

I hope someone has a solution soon.

Try to update your video drivers then reboot

Drivers are up to date, and rebooting didn't help.

For Intel GPU users the min specs say HD graphics 4000. My laptop has the HD 3000 chip. I was hoping it would work, but unfortunately i was not so lucky.

Update your intel video drivers from www.intel.com and try it.

Post your sytem specs from Staem-Help-System information. Mostly because 'up to date' is an entirely relative term.

Are all of these cases on laptops with dual video cards?

I actually finally managed to get it to launch on my laptop only to have the same issue. I have since moved to the gaming desktop that was built recently and have been playing it without a single problem.

All of my drivers are up to date. Including the video driver which is version 9.17.10.3347. Dated 1/29/2014.

Rest of laptop meets, or exceeds the system requirements in memory, CPU, and OS. I stated that i knew the sys requirements said "Intel HD Graphics 4000, or better". However my GPU is the HD graphics 3000. I also know that my GPU IS the issue. I was just hoping that it would work. Its time to upgrade. Unless Stardock wishes to find a way to make GC3 work on HD graphics 3000 chips.
