thoughts on the production wheel

the production wheel

i like it it seems like a really powerful tool for management so i have some ideas to make it more, some have been posted before by others but i thought id gather them all up in one place.

1) a 0% wealth production line; a dotted line where wealth is equal to 0

  • with the pointer above the line you have a surplus economy
  • with the pointer on the line you have a balanced economy
  • with the pointer below the line you run a defecit

2) quick buttons (balance, wealth, research and production)

  • clicking on one of the three icons around the production wheel will change your focus to 100% to the clicked icon, a fourth icon possibly some balance scales will cause the wheel to reset to 33%, 33%, 33%

3) button locks / insert-able percentages

  • the ability to lock a particular production type at a certain percentage ( i want wealth at 20% i lock it in place and can now adjust research and production between 0%-80%
  • the ability to type in a percentage on any of the production fields and have it adjust the others to compensate

4) Multiple civilization government production wheels

  • the ability to create a number of different production focus's that way you can assign a planet to any one of them and adjust them as a group; such as all research planets, all production planets, all culture planets.

I love #4!!! Planet grouping has been a problem that needs fixing for many years now. I haven't been here that long and I long for it.

#1. Yes. What type of immoral dictator would we be if we didn't have economic guidance? Lol.

it might also help if the button was bigger to grab, made a sound effect, and wasn't so loose/sensitive.

karma to you for bringing this up. :)

DARCA. :)

On 4. They have the option for named planet governors. I wonder if this is already in the works in some sense. I really would like to know what they are going to do these governors.

#1, I do support that option immensely. Love to see that curved line on that circle ;)
