No skin on Start button on Win 8.1
Hey Folks,
Why does the Win 8.1 Start button not change to the one supplied by the installed skin? Have been unable to find anything so far in the settings to fix this.
Thanks...

Do you have Start8 installed? If not, that'll be your problem.
If Start8 is installed, the WB start button will automatically be used. If no Start8, I believe all you get is the default start button.
I will test that statement, and get back to ya.
Tested and proven.
In order to skin the Windows 8.1 start button, you need to add Start8.
Just FYI, once you install Start8, you can make an adjustment in the settings on WindowBlinds that will allow you to change the start button to a custom one, via Start8.
But first, you must set WBconfig to use the system start button, then change that button in Start8.
Otherwise, the WB skin you load will determine the start button used.

Note: The setting shown in the Start8 config, above, will not be accessible until you make the setting in windowblinds as shown in the first shot.
Thanks RedneckDude,
I don't use Start8 as I'm comfortable with the Start Screen and All Apps Screen in Win 8.1. I will keep this in mind, though, if I decide to go the way that Windows is headed in the near future (bringing back the true Start Menu).
Yeah, the metro start screen isn't too bad, once you get used to it, but the only way to get the start button skinned will be Start8. (Or a like app).
