SD store key not recognized by steam

I have sins solar empire, boxed w CD, purchased at retail store a few years back. Key is registered with SD store, and shows in my account there. Steam does not recognize the key - so cannot download game. Best way ot address this successfully? Thank you.

It's not possible to activate a boxed copy of Soase on Steam as the original game is not available on Steam.
