Right Said Fred

I’m Too Sexy

Album: Up!

Year: 1991

It’s time for something happy, don’t you think?

Fred Fairbrass is the self-proclaimed prettiest in the all of the land in the cocksure            “I’m Too Sexy.”

Fairbrass arrogant vocals begin the single, setting a haughty tone. He says his good looks are causing problems in his relationship. His girlfriend has become insecure. He just doesn’t know what to do. He fixes the collar of his designer shirt. His beautiful emerald eyes really bring out the rather generic design. He has worked for all the in-demand designers in United States, Italy and Japan. He has traveled those courntries so much he has grown bored with them. He must find work in other major cities in Europe. It won’t be a problem. He calls his friend to decline an invitation  to a 70s themed party held by  a model friend of his. He couldn’t take the damage to his career if anyone caught him doing the Electric Slide. (“I'm too sexy for my love too sexy for my love/Love's going to leave me/I'm too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt/So sexy it hurts/And I'm too sexy for Milan too sexy for Milan/New York and Japan/And I'm too sexy for your party/Too sexy for your party/No way I'm disco dancing.”)

In the chorus, he says he makes excellent money as a model. He has to have high-profile job. (“I'm a model you know what I mean/And I do my little turn on the catwalk/Yeah on the catwalk on the catwalk yeah/I do my little turn on the catwalk.”)

He poses his arm straight on the steering wheel and makes a steely expression. Now the Masareti has an edge. He adjusts his hat. It was a freebie from a designer. His charisma lets him pull it off. However, it should remain a freebie. No one else has charisma like him. (“I'm too sexy for my car too sexy for my car/Too sexy by far/And I'm too sexy for my hat/Too sexy for my hat what do you think about that.”)

The second chorus is sung. He adds that he has a signature move that makes the photographers go wild. He wiggles his butt. It gets everyone talking. (“'Cos I'm a model you know what I mean…I shake my little tush on the catwalk.”)

The sample of Jimi Hendrix’s “Third Stone from the Sun” begins in the in the bridge. He thinks of other things that are lucky to have him. (“I'm too sexy for my too sexy for my too sexy for my.”)

The second chorus is sung again.

The Jimi Hendrix sample replays again.

His draws attention away from his adorable white kitten. When other people are in the room, she leaps from lap to lap for someone to notice her. (“I'm too sexy for my cat too sexy for my cat/Poor pussy poor pussy cat/I'm too sexy for my love too sexy for my love/Love's going to leave me.”)

At the end, he is so over the song. He made a Jimi Hendrix song as well as some working musicians look really good. (“And I'm too sexy for this song.”)

Fairbrass’ smug vocals pout and draw out every word for the maximum effect. He likes being handsome and the advantages it has given him. Although he finds that people are jealous of him and he has  to be watch out for backstabbers. Someone glued his shoes once during Fashion Week! It was Fashion Week! He almost had a heart attack and thought it was career ruination.

The brazen “I’m Too Sexy” is too much fun to pass up.
