Waiting forever

After initial install it took a long long long time for the game to start but it did eventually. After that fine.

But that isn't the waiting forever.

Playing the game for awhile and then the turn button just stays on wait. Everything works ok, I can do diplomacy, give orders etc etc, I just can't progress.

I have clicked on every ship, planet, starbase looking for some idle function but cant find anything.

Saved the game, exited and re-loaded, still stuck.

Thoughts:

1. Can CPU handle it.

2. Are drivers up to date.

3. Have enough RAM

4. If not enough RAM is paging file big enough.

Probably would help to list your system specs.

I suspect something got stuck.  I'm going to be doing a deep dive on optimization in November.

Its happened to me too - saved game just before - click Turn then Wait - rebooted and reloaded still same issue. 8Gb ram i5 3570K, 120Gb SSD, 1TB HD, Wind 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Radeon 5750 1Gb. Latest video drivers. CPU of system at 54% Memory usage up to 86% before pressing Turn button - same after. After quitting back down to 23% Memory & 0% CPU.

Would attach Save game if there was an option to.

I've just submitted a lockup report @ turn #13 where it's a total lockup. This happened while I was moving a ship. I couldn't even save the game.

Still hasppens under Beta 3 - I now have autosave at every turn and still often lose progress when it freezes. Have to kill it using task manager - there can see using 50% of my 4570k CPU and 2Gb of RAM - same as when running "normally" !!!

Well the same problem and to load again havent helped... after round 453 im waiting :-)
