Campaign in Beta2 and is the current beta 2 friendly enough for more casual gamers?

(and can I play the beta on my machine/ any known problems?)

Dear Stardock/ GalCiv fans,

First of all, what a fantastic job you guys are doing prepping galciv3! Can't wait to play the final game! I'd like to join the beta, but I have a couple of questions:

Does the beta currently has the campaign (partially) included?

Is the game playable for the more casual players at the moment?

Are there any known troubles with Nvidia GTX770 or GTX970?

Goodluck on the development :)

The campaign is not in the game yet. The game should be pretty playable at the moment (there are still some features absent such as combat) but I will defer to the players for more opinions on that.

The only video card issue that was present was when you had an intergal video card on your motherboard (common with many laptops) and it was fixed. After that, none that I have heard of.

As for game play, there are still a lot of things missing that a casual gamer would miss. Like the combat viewer. Combat is currently just a message of who won. Combat viewer comes in December (hopefully). Not all the major races are in, no minor races, nor can you currently make new races. Lots of other "flashy" bits are not in as well. So if you are wanting all the "flashy" bits then I would wait. Overall game play is working though as far as basic mechanics so if that's all you are looking for (or are will to help find all the difficult to find bugs) and are willing to wait for the "flashy" bits then its great.

Ok thanks people! This helps a lot. Probably going to play galciv2 to quench my first to conquer the galaxy and wait till december when the combat viewer is in :-D
