Possible bug: can't remove object from dock

(This is about the apple-looking dock, not the tabbed dock, not sure what to call it)

Using Windows 8.1

I have an application that I am currently running.  The icon for this application shows up in the slider dock at the bottom.  When I right click any icon on this bar I get the option "remove icon" except for this one.

Dragging the icon up and out of the dock I get a prompt "are you sure you want to remove this shortcut" with a remove and cancel button.  When I click remove I get a little puff of animated smoke but the icon stays right where it was.  As soon as I close the application the icon will finally vanish.

Along the same lines, when I rename a shortcut in the tabbed dock the name change is not reflected until after I switch to a different tab and back again.  Name changes should take place immediately and refresh.

That is the problem. You can't remove an icon from  the dock for an application while it is running.. You must close the app first.

Have you tried hitting F5 and refreshing the desktop? (Again, I think it has to do with the tab being in use)
