Crash to desktop on icon click

Hi, I'm a long time lurker and for the most part have only had a few half games or so since getting the game during the December period. however i have had a relatively smooth experience until just a few minutes ago. Apat from the tool tip ui bugging that iv already seen, the only significant bug iv encountered is that on pressing the button "Govern" on the planet tool bar when selecting a dead planet ( for me this was a deadplanet called thulium 1 and i was mining from it with a starbase, not sure if thats meant to happen but thats what was going on ). As soon as i clicked the govern button, the game froze up and then stopped responding, iv never had this happen before. and i have taken a cursery look on the forums but and forgive me if i'm wrong, i hadnt seen this bug/error on the forums.
