Got immense maps working. Got this error message today.

So I increased the virtual ram to 6 gigs and that did the trick. I am trying to start the game and I am getting this message...

C:\Steam Install\Steam\steamapps\common\Galactic Civilizations III/Data/Game\FXBeamWeapons.xml(1,1): error:
invalid byte 't' at position 2 of a 2-byte sequence

 

um, reinstall?

My first instinct on this would be to try and verify the files via steam or re-installing. I hope this helps! :)

Also, could this be due to a prefs.ini file with option values in it that are no longer supported? You could try deleting the prefs.ini file in your "my games/GalCiv3" folder.
