Surveys should be ordered to avoid wormholes

I really wish I could order my autopilot survey ships to avoid wormholes.  Maybe no all ships, but its more important to me to have it actually able to survey than stuck in the penalty box.  By this I mean any ship (the bigger the galaxy the larger the penalty) outside of its range must be "in the penalty box" and fly straight home.   It would be good if this was a separate order: Auto survey avoid wormholes.  This way I could build special purpose ships to hit wormholes.  A ship loaded down with sensors would be very useful having to be in the penalty box.

This would definitely help.  Or create a new class of anomaly that can either be a wormhole or a nice credit bonus.  I think that they put the wormholes in there to provide a sense of gambling in anomaly farming.

Another idea would be to possibly make the wormholes permanent so that you to check them out and guard against them... i.e. a 2 way gate...

Why? I find the journey via wormhole both amusing and fruitful. When a survey ship enters a wormhole it could end up traveling through another civ's territory, either immediately or during the trip back to your territory, allowing you to meet them earlier than you otherwise would. This is a benefit.

Quality of life thing for sure.  I'd love to see such a feature.  However I think there sick humor demands that it isn't implemented.

So you can just do what i do which is quickly research survey and send out 30 of them.  I play with anomalies on abundant ^.^

If you look at the zoomed in map, you can tell its a wormhole.  If it were gambling like GC2, the I have no problem.  It may be a good thing or a bad thing to hit one, but you shouldn't have to keep your ships on manual to make the decision.  I'd rather get the free frigates, colony ships, research, constructions, money, etc.  Besides I don't see why you need a survey module to even drive into a wormhole.

I find that 2 or 3 is sufficient, and then and I don't care that one is off on a remote mapping quest for a while.  But I like your approach!

I wish wormholes could be exploited more than simply being a "penalty box on the far side of the map"

A.  when going through you discover new ways of warping space.
B.  They can be made permanent so you have a faster way to go to the far side of the map.

C.  some other random event is possibly triggered by them

Wormholes seem like they are only partially there...  they could really do a lot more with them.

Thats actually a pretty neat idea.

Have it warp your randomly on the map, or to a secret undiscovered world or system that would spawn, or to a pirates hideout in which they won't take to kindly to your kind around there.

I play on Immense (until larger maps are released!) so I find the wormhole business just fine.    It is expedient on large maps to get the intel on other empires;  plus, it is worthwhile (imo) to build several survey ships to keep harvesting the anomalies.   So one on a wild goose chase isn't that big a deal.   And all the way back it is mapping the galaxy.  Or, the choice might be to decommission and build another.

On a small map, come to think of it, the map info from a wormhole run is likely even more valuable.   The problem is the cost in not getting surveys done and the relative cost of building a replacement is higher.

Just my 2c.

Personally i would love to have a little checkbox mechanic for surveys click manage ship under survey select the type you want your ship to go after .

This seems eminently reasonable.  And makes total sense for what the capabilities should be.
