Multiplayer Love

First off Multi-player needs love...  Here are several issues I've noticed to this point...

  • Game constantly crashes, to the point where you may have to close steam to get the game to relaunch.
  • Max AI players is set to 6 (this may be max players set to 8 human or AI)  However, AI should be like single player allowing many AI.
  • Exiting to menu from multi-player game exited the game completely out.

Other issues not limited to multi-player...

  • Invisible ships, depending on different things going on sometimes your ships become invisible.
  • Thalan ability giving it free research, gives free research upon loading the game at any point.  Example loading saved game gives you free research points.
  • Thala (Thalan homeworld) is only a class 15 planet, even though shows class 16 in custom race discriptions.

Although I've posted in the ver80 feedback thread about this^ as well the chat window bottom reply is still not visible and at one point I had to restart my computer to get the game going as Steam wasn't starting the game and unlike our previous multplayer thread where the game was crashing around turn 120+ this game was crashing virtually every turn from the start and we only got to turn 41 after 2.5hrs of playing.

Yeah, that was our experience last night we got to around turn 40 after about 2 hours of playing last night.

Hello Seilore and Echillion,

Just to clarify, are you (presumably, the host) the only one crashing or is everyone connected to your multiplayer session also crashing?

I was the host, and the game was crashing throughout various parts on both sides either him or myself.  It was just us two playing against 6 AI players (although I would love the option to have many more AI players.)

We would get various peer disconnected errors or complete crashing.  Sometimes the game would lock as it was switching between turns for a minute or two and then continue.

When exiting the game to menu, it would either crash the game or exit the game completely (no error messages given in windows so don't know which it was doing)

Steam would not relaunch game unless you forced closed Steam (happened for both of us) and re-opened the Steam client).  Hope that helps.
