I war you! No wait, I actually want peace

Just a bug report: in my Terran game, the Yor have declared war on me twice, and then just a few turns later, they proposed peace, without even taking any aggressive moves. I obviously accepted, as I didn't even have a military fleet (I think thats why they declared war on the first place).

Oh and also, they would later vote me for the UP leader chair, despite hating me. I won. As a matter of fact, I have been chosen as the UP leader nonstop for quite some time already, and not only as the Terrans.

In Beta 4 I frequently lost the UP chairmanship vote, but in Beta 5 I've won them all, with all of my enemies (and some of my friends) voting for me.  Perhaps that's because I had the highest power rating, or perhaps it's something more complicated.  Seems odd, anyway.

I also seem to always win the UP charimanship in Beta 5, maybe the delibratley fixed this for this version so we could try out various proposals easily. I've noticed in other stardock games that factions who don't even have the range to reach you will often start wars with you particularly if you appear weak and then change their minds a few turns later with no blood having been spilt.

I don't think a faction should ever declare war on you unless A) they can reach at least some of you planets, B) They have at least some fleet  ready to send against you. C) They actually plan to attack. or you attack them of course in which case you really delcared war.

AI is a work in progress. One I would personally love to hear more about in a dev stream, though I don't think Paul is directly involved in that process. I've had similar experiences but I know that changes are already planned due to what Paul has mentioned in past dev streams. For now I just abuse the power of the chair and dictate laws as I see fit. ;)
