Is there a work around?

The game won't let me proceed after I have maxed out one of my colonies. The game is stuck on the button for idle colony and i can't click end turn. I ended up on loop by having to delete an improvement and rebuild again. Is there a way I can skip the idle colony button and go directly to end turn?

Just set it to do one of the last 4 items like Economic, Cultural ...

You need to select a project.

What you need to do is go to the bottom of the list of buildings and find the projects (they will always say NA and have project in the name).   Choose one and click the queue button.

What happens is that any social manufacturing is then converted into whatever the project calls for.   So if it is a research project, you get some more research.
