Ship/Part Design Sharing?

Will a mechanism for sharing ship designs/parts be in place at, or shortly after, launch?

It sounds like that will be in the 1.1 patch which will focus on modding and steam workshop integration from what they said on the dev streams.

For now you can share the three files from the design folder (PNG, SHIP, and OBJGFXCFG) that people can put in their design folder. The devs are saying in about 1.1 steam workshop integration will be complete and you will be able to trade them via steam.

I love GC3 and want it to be a great success.  But, I think Stardock would be well advised to watch releases like Cities: Skylines.  Good workshop integration is a big deal these days.  Does not seem like a 1.1 item to me.

They know this and if it was ready steam workshop integration would have been out right away.

I agree good steam workshop integration will be a big plus for the game and the sooner the better but I'd rather they did in well in the 1.1 patch than did it poorly at launch.
