Bink v1 vs v2

So by now pretty much anyone out there looking at this post knows that GalCiv3 uses bink2 and that bink 1 is not supported. This is due to the need for transparency which allows hot swaping of FG & BG to mix and match. I would like to suggest allowing bink 1 knowing the following. With bink1 you would only be able to use 1 video and would not have swap-ability bink 2 offers the game. A hindrance? Not really. It's additional options. Bink2 is supported and offers the full feature array. Adding bink1 would enhance the ability of modders to add videos, even if it is just 1 level deep. I am fairly confident the game can already support just 1 video. Thats just my 2 cents on the matter.

I haven't looked into it too much yet but you may be able to create them with this, just bare in mind I'm really only guessing. Animated FG & BG are pretty low on my priority list for the factions I'm working on considering that I have zero experience in that area xD It will be the finishing polish to signify that I'm totally done lol

It can't support blink 1.


I asked for this many, many months ago before release but its not planned due to the time it would take to implement. Even offered to buy a blink 2 license but nobody actually replied with a price from the company that has the rights.
