Hello. I am a big fan of the Galciv games. My usual plan for new games is to wait a month or so after release to get them to let bugs be worked out. So i am looking to get this game soon.

My question is, can i play this without steam? I have a bit of a dated system and cannot afford to upgrade at the moment. i can play the game just fine i know, but steam tends to be a system resource hog. So if this is one i can play without running steam that would be great. also, if nonsteam play is possible, will there be patch exe files available for download?
