Kuja Faction with ships, minor bug.

I am not sure where to post so Ill just write it out. I uninstalled an reinstalled and deleted all my folders. I was getting piled up with dozens of different ships and wanted to start fresh. 

 

Anyway. I added 'Kuja Faction with ships' to the mod folder. Interestingly the Faction showed up complete with special abilities which you cannot get. The text was clipped a bit on some of the abilities as well.

 

When I went to start a new game the game would give me the 'Creating/Loading map screen but would never finish. After a couple times I removed this faction and the game starts and plays fine. 

 

I am not sure how to dismantle the custom faction without breaking it. I was wondering if there was a Kuja Facton 'without ships' that works?

PS: I realize this has NOTHING to do with Stardock and was hoping the faction creator was reviewing the forums.

I took a quick look, that's Dumhed's faction. From what I see all the files are fine, I suspect the issue is file location. You'll need to merge the \Designs subfolder with your  \SteamGames\SteamApps\common\Galactic Civilizations III\Designs folder, else the game isn't able to find the design templates it wants to use for your factions 3 starting ships. 

 

I don't believe designs in blueprints work from the mod folder at all yet.

That may be the case. Ill do as you say. Will I have to over write the existing files or can I rename them?

IF you'd previously removed all folders there should be nothing to overwrite, only folders to merge.

 

What you can do to test if its the ships, is made a Copy of the race with a different ShipStyle set in the appearance tab. If it's not working then, it must be a different problem.

Nope, tried it & still no luck here :-/  

 

I haven't had the 'not loading' issue & most of that mod is quite good, so its kind of a shame.  The tech tree changes are quite well written and the designs are cool looking, but in not recognizing the ship names, I don't get awarded any bonus ships whether from events or ideology choices (game doesn't seem to recognize them even in the design folder).  You can play around this but its a bit of a bummer.  You also can select the ships if you wanted to assign them to a new race, but no image shows in the preview (again game doesn't seem to know where to find them).
