I understand that improving the interface will be a huge task but thought that the developers might consider a few things in the interim in the next patch. Perhaps people will have other suggestions for priorities:
Ship list
Since transports and constructors are the most crucial items to get to a war zone apart from the military hardware (invasion, putting targets within range and replacing star bases which have been razed before an annoying ally does) perhaps we could have separate columns for them before anything else so that we can find them more easily.
Diplomacy screen
Whatever is decided about lockouts eventually, please could we have a counter as to how long it will be before civs will trade with us - and also for the 50 turn period when a civ is immune to attack after fulfilling Negotiator I in the pragmatic ideology screen.
It would also help to know how much cash any faction that will trade has if you need to sell some to boost the economy. (Ascertainable by offering to trade - if they're locked out then irrelevant and can't be accessed.

While we're at it it would also help to know how much is being generated and so when the next tranche will be available unless random events occur to expedite this (don't know whether there are ones to to retard it too?)
