Oddly enough, it sort of works. Fast Assembly and Ultra Fast Assembly can still be used by non-synth races if you select Yor tech.
The biggest problem though is the lack of pop capacity on planets. Yor tech means no farms. That can be rectified partially with Monsantium deposits (+1 food per item) and farmers (+2 food).
Wondering if you can trade techs to get farms. If so, it means playing as a synthetic race is actually a NERF since you can get all of the benefits WITHOUT having to choose the synthetic trait.
The PRIMARY advantage of choosing Yor Tech with a non-synth race is that your pop will naturally grow AND you have the ability to manufacture more pop.
