Wanted to give my impressions and quick suggestions so far.

First off even in this rough state, I am loving the game.  It makes me feel like a kid playing TA again for the first time :).  The actual frame rate seems pretty solid for a pre-alpha build as well so color me impressed.  I also loved the fact that like Supreme Commander I could drag my units waypoints around.  Now for a few suggestions that I've come up with so far.

1:  I really think the move speed of the units should be increased by a fair amount.  I think especially small agile units should at least look/feel like they are zipping across the battlefield. Right now I feel like I am watching my units move in slow motion.

2:  I don't know if I missed it but I think the standard attack/patrol/move/etc commands should have a prominent place in the UI when units are selected.  I know that this isn't Supreme commander but I think if there is one thing that could be taken from sup-com it is the ability to easily place patrol routes, change them on the fly, etc.

3:  The ability for engineers to place rows of structures is another feature that I think would really be nice.

4:  Although my FPS seemed pretty solid when placing structures, selecting units, changing waypoints, etc it felt as though the game was experiencing significant frame rate drops even though it clearly seemed to be running smoothly.  By this I mean that the mouse movement did not feel very smooth during these actions and it would take a couple tries to get a building placed where I wanted it to be.

5:  This one I'm not too sure about as I've heard it talked about before.  The strategic zoom/ unit icon debate.  After playing a little bit of the game I really feel that they would fit in, and especially considering the scope of the battlefields would really improve quality of life.  I personally like to be able to get that generals view of the battlefield to quickly see at a glance how my strategies are playing out and though the current zoom level is okay, it feels like an awkward middle ground between the traditional Starcraft 2 tactical view and the supreme commander full battlefield zoom.  I really believe that a full strategic zoom function and some sort of icons would be well received.  (maybe instead of having icons for each individual unit, have one icon for each battlegroup that represents its approximate combined strength and then overlay an opaque color over both your and your opponents armies when in strategic view so you can quickly see how large each force is and get an idea of what it is going to do without having to swap each unit for an icon)

6: With the gain/loss economy type I really dislike that you cannot start building a unit/building atm if your resources are in the negative/none in the bank.  (I think this is the reason at least, It seems to only happen when I am in the red with no reserve metal/reactives)

7:  I'm still loving the game keep up the good work!!!!

Of course, it's the reason I backed. This looks to have the potential to be my next favorite RTS and I want to help it be the best it can be!
