Automate surrender

Just had a race surrender to me.

Sounds nice till you see that your income has gone from a big plus to a big minus.

I am having to give orphaned shipyards a planet

manage ships

manage what many planets will do

Is there a way to make some of this automated. Maybe even make a surrender AI to take care of things as you want.

I just try an idea :

If it is so bad to have them, just give them to the ennemy (or a race you like, or split them beetween multiple races) ! It will get all those problems.

You will invade all those planets, one at the time. It will be easier to manage.

Also, you can get a lot from the trade.

Or you can simply keep the planets you want and can keep and then destroy the rest denying them to the enemy...

Selling, of course, gets rid of them, too, but usually your coffers are already overflowing so destroying gives better value. Well, techs are nice, of course, if they have anything available.

I find AI surrender ridiculous. If the AI is losing to an enemy, then the enemy should get the spoils (even if this works against the player). My biggest beef with peace deals (among many with the lackluster diplomacy mechanic) is that the winner doesn't get to negotiate a deal if the AI sends you "Im tired of fighting". Wtf? We should immediately be brought to the bargaining screen to hammer out what type of compensation is being asked for to have peace. Not just "its over".

Diplomacy is so sad in this game.

It was much better in the last game when you could turn off surrenders and bend races over backwards in peace negotiations.
