Ashes of the Singularity v0.62 Change Log

The .62 patch was released today. A big thanks to all the community members that helped track down bugs and gave their feedback. There's a lot on this list that wouldn't have been possible without it!

Gameplay

  • “Knife Fight” map added
  • Doubled default VP limit on all maps
  • Option for random starting locations
  • Orbital abilities use quanta instead of radioactives
  • Opponents default to beginner AI
  • Pathfinding - formation change to be better around bad terrain 
  • Surrender option so you can still see game stats when quitting
  • Seton map layout improved; added additional paths
  • Balance: Pan HP increased from 200 to 500
  • Balance: Brute plasma weapon projectile speed slightly increased
  • Balance: Smarty missiles buffed slightly (3 shots per volley instead of 2)

Art & Graphics

  • Team colors polished (more work to be done here)
  • Improved construction effect
  • Better visuals for invalid placement of buildings
  • Dreadnaughts and Factory de-materialize effect on destruction 
  • Temporary explosion fx for Dreadnaughts
  • Tweaked PHC weathering technique to not be all metal. Now includes variable paint wear.
  • Tweaked range of edge wear on units/buildings, added more local variation
  • Polished panel detail on unit maps

UI

  • Right-click on build buttons also cancels units from queue
  • Construction, Tech, and Orbital button icons made more distinct and legible
  • CTRL group icons more readable
  • Added tooltips to options, benchmark options, disabled menu items, create public/private lobby buttons, etc.
  • Adding map preview for Grison
  • Added starting locations on map previews

Sound

  • Attack & Move order sounds polished
  • Adding destruction sound to buildings
  • Select sounds added and polished for; Hades, Archer, Pan, Medic, Defenders, Prometheus, Artemis, Fury, Brute
  • Turned up volume of button click in Main Menu

Misc

  • Graphics preset performance optimizations
  • Performance improvement to unit movement
  • Map load speed improved
  • Being more space efficient with save game info

Stability

  • Fixed startup crash for players with foreign characters in their Windows user name
  • Fixed crash bug when entering Benchmark results screen
  • Crash fix when loading map list takes too long
  • Adding safety checks for indexing into cached leaderboard results when a board with that name can't be found

Bug Fixes

  • Disable changing game settings in the lobby during the countdown
  • Now properly showing building previews when loading a save game
  • Fix for size 2 buildings taking up space that size 3 buildings 
  • Loading MP save games further fixes (should be in good working order now)
  • Building dying vis state now happens on the client as well as the host
  • Fixing glare visual effect
  • Multiple map fixes for resources that didn’t allow extractors to be placed on them, and bad region connections
  • Fixed “muddy” sound when close in to a battle
  • Bug with construction/Tech/Orbital panel not showing up fixed
  • Fixed bugs with Hades not attacking consistently

You took out yellow? hope you can add it in the near future.

and the New Seton map got better but, its really buggy, units get stuck and cannot place extractor in some locations.


Leave Seton as it was Before but make it bigger and add more space to move around the mid part of the map, and the new Seton map keep it but change the name of this map so we can have 2 maps.

Loving the new patch. The only thing i hate in it is that new attack move sound, it gets very annoying fast.
