Normal mode difficulty is not normal

Normal mode difficulty is not normal

I have enjoyed many RTS games and I can say that normal is not normal. It is at least hard if not much more difficult than that. I played through easy mode and found it to be pretty easy. I jumped to normal mode and figured it would be at least a little more difficult, but no, it is a lot more difficult. I even tried changing some of the settings like no neutral defenders and it did not help. No matter what it seems I do they continue to always go for my weak spot early on. So if anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it.

Honestly though, I figured there would be a much more linear increase in difficulty instead of a jump like this. I am not sure what to do at this point except ask for advice and see what everyone else thinks.

Each Zeus grants HPs to all units in the Army.

Was this spelled out somewhere?  I did not know this.

For Turinium nodes, neutrals spawn at the very beginning of the game. That is why I avoided the node directly to the south. For normal relay nodes, the first group spawns at 2 minutes. So cap what you can for free before 2 minutes.

Wow!  I didn't know this either.  I have beaten the AI on normal and even though it is harder on this latest build I have pulled it off once or twice but this should help a lot.

Remember this is only when the unit is part of an Army (created with V), not if it is un-attached.

I thought it only gave a bonus to the T3 though and not the whole army, can anyone confirm either way?

EDIT: Ooops, The quote was from TheRealWarpstorm, a Dev, so I guess that is a confirmation right there :)

That does make the boosts very powerful, I had not realised. I guess it makes sense because it also encourages creating a meta-unit even without a T3.

So select all the units you want in the metaunit and hit V?  I assume this has a similar effect to creating units from a dreadnaught.  I noticed that if you create the units from the dreadnaught the units all get selected together when you select one.  I did notice a problem with that though when one of the units in the group was somehow isolated and I didn't realize it was part of a group.  I selected it without realizing it was also selecting a bunch more units off screen and then sent it off somewhere and the whole army off screen started moving too.

Is there a way to break the army?

Press "B".

Both of these commands are also on the screen in the bottom middle, just mouse over them to see which ones.

I agree it would be useful to be able to pull away a unit or two from an Army without disbanding the whole army. Perhaps Ctrl-left click to select units and make them independent again, or something along those lines.
