wow thanks for linking us to the "vote for ashes" rather than providing us with a choice.
Here's the ACTUAL link http://www.game-debate.com/awards/2015/best-innovators
I personally don't understand how you guys could dare to line up for awards when your game isn't even out of ALPHA yet let alone FINISHED.
And I'm not talking about AOTS not shining bright enough among this group. AT ALL. I'm talking about what's trying to be implied here.
Innovative category is far from justifying placing it in an award race pre-release.
That is far from the right category to have Ashes nominated in. It's ironic to an inhumane degree.
Why not best AI?
But not innovation.
That's just begging to be nailed for even daring to claim such a thing.
Every single last aspect. Every (unfleshed) (temporary) (current) gimmik in this game has been done before.
The scale and the unit count have been outdone 8 or 18 years ago depending on the reference you pick. (remember in AOTS dreadnoughts count for 10 logistics also groups of units visually represented as 3 or more are actually a single node for the computer to pathfind with. I'm not quite sure of this but potentially a single hitbox as well. meta units are definitely a single pathfind node. logistics is not unit count. and currently AOTS crashes at 3000 logistics. none of these stats even remotely weigh against TA's or FA's or PA's or Spring's)
At GDC 2015 you guys boasted never before seen unit count and scale at 2015's GDC which made all those SPRTS lovers who were having the best of stary-eyed delights discovering this video cringe for a moment.
Why do you guys understand so little about addressing your crowd and PR?
We forgive you for anything and everything. We forgive you even this. But why oh why are you hellbent on giving us a regular dose of cringe???
Have you any idea what this does to your game's rep?
Now because I can see the retorts coming of "oh but you're doing all the damage yourself!" coming. Lemme remind you all that I choose to post this TO YOU. on your forum. A very little frequented forum (compared to steam or gaming websites or reddit or facebook twitter youtube any other social network) to confront you with your mistakes as a fan who honestly cares for the success of your product and that you may retort to.
It's not like I'm talking behind your back.
Please for once take my advice.
I saw UBER's second Kickstarter fail from three lightyears away and during it's whole duration I shut the hell up.
