Is there any way to use DesktopX objects & widgets with Object Desktop or any other currently-available Stardock software? There are some that I would REALLY love to be able to use.
DesktopX was discontinued some while ago, so unless you had DesktopX during that time and still have it, there's not currently any apps that can use them.
You can however run DX Gadgets without any other software DX installed as they are standalone.

If you find an Object, Theme or Widget you really like, contact RedneckDude, perhaps he can gadgetize them for you.
I think that would be permissible, not sure. Without permission from the original author, I can't upload. But I guess if an individual downloads an object and privately wants it "gadgetized" I could do that.
If a moderator sees this, I'm sure they'll set me straight, if I'm wrong.
Many thanks for the ideas. I will see about gathering the ones I really want and obtaining permission from the authors before asking RND to "gadgetize" them. I'll contact you about further steps. It seems such a shame to lose this capability, as many of these gadgets & widgets were VERY well done. I wish someone would write an app (to convert them for later OS desktop use (I use Win7 and I would absolutely pay for such an app). I would think the original authors would be glad to have their stuff live on.
Be aware that some of the older DX stuff won't work on newer OSes.
