When browsing reddit I noticed this post and the author was looking for people to post their own experiences. Hopefully some people here can help explain what is going on?

It looks like the left side has much better visuals, with all of the weapons and engines glowing / producing their own light.

Can anyone here test to see what their gameplay looks like?

Thanks!

It certainly looks like there are some glow effects missing on the right side. Especially visible on bombers close-up picture, no engine glow on Nvidia HW for whatever reason.

Right off hand, I'd say either HDR is off, or it can't keep up with the light sources.

dude ......... can you not tell those are pictures of screens.

Agreed.  This does not look like a good comparison.

Also, the scenes compared were not identical, so different effects are happening at the same time. Example: Fig3. Firing main cannon on LHS, and secondary railgun on RHS.

The additional bloom could feasibly be due to excessive brightness on one monitor compared to the other. The RHS looks to have much better colour.

Even so, the game is still in development, many of the graphical optimisations have not been implemented yet.

well this guy did put a video comparison in here.

Very interesting things about the difference

even the Forums of AnandTech talked about that

WHO .....in 2016 takes a camera ... and then takes a picture of their screen. WTF.

use the damn screenshot key. that's what' it's there for.

Did you bother to watch the comparison video linked in that post? I'm guessing not since it would completely invalidate your post. The screenshots are taken of the youtube video to easily show off the differences, not replace watching the video.

The video was of the benchmark, which is always different since its playing the game and the AI makes different decisions. I'm guessing you didn't watch the comparison video linked in the original post either.

I have, the camera work in the video was not magically better than the still captures that were taken from it.

If you look at recent benchmarks (not from the pre-alpha) you will see that there isn't that much difference between AMD and NVIDIA. Both have lightsources coming from each of the projectiles, and none of them are excessively blurry and distracting.

I cant say for sure, but IMO there are some differences. Once again the bombers on Nvidia HW lack the glow on the engine trail and i find it highly unlikely that would be down to different monitor brightness or something along the line. If so, i would expect the effect to be just less pronounced, but to me its like that particular effect its just not there at all on Nvidia.

Not that it matters that much to me, i would still buy Nvidia card over AMD cause of CUDA. Just saying how i see this.
