Alo, and as you should know there was a moratorium on capital punishment in the US in the 70's. I believe even today not all US states have capital punishment. Not everyone in the US supports capital punishment for the reasons you cited.

Despite apparent assumptions based on rhetoric, the population of the USA is not monolithic in its views and positions.

Paxx. Ah, but that's the thing, which countries are going to give up their arms? They'll do so by unanimous agreement? And for those who don't and won't? Who will comprise the international swat team? The UN? Couldn't even rouse itself (for many reasons, including lack of US support) to stop the genocide in Rwanda when given advance notice by the Canadian commander of UN forces on the ground. Maybe in some future time, but not in our lifetime.

"Only have an International Law Enforcement forces that would be deployed only when necessary" -paxx

Scary! the problem with any law "enforcement forces" is that they always follow someone's orders. we like those "someones" to be locals since they're far more accountable to us than a distant person or persons in the "world community".
i'm always surprised to see people who won't trust a country government as far as they can throw it, but appear to be willing to trust a world government. that seems illogical.

Illogical, but hey, it's idealistic.... (Bravo!!!!!!)

kthxbye your Spanish is well, but when you have conflicts calling something you have to say the entire thing. You can't call America at USA because America is North America, South America and Central America, eventhought you can't call USA North America (many newspapers and other mass media do) becase there is another country called Canada.

(My applauses were for your first post not for Buzz_Hog one.)

Oh, you mean that you are happy that France provided Saddam Hussain with the ability to produce nuclear weapons?

It's a simple yes or no question.

i was once chewed out by a Canadian friend for the US's monopolization of the term American. I asked: When the man with the uzzi on the plane directs everyone with an American passport to come forward, what are you going to do? He advised me that he would stay in his seat.

Maybe my example isn't that clear.....maybe this is better.....There's people who believe in relativism, where it's up to you on what is right and wrong, good or bad, and it clearly would seem that they have no morals. But when they themselves are tested against their beliefs they fail. Why? Because everyone has morals, everyone knows what is right or wrong (unless they plea insanity) it's only if they choose to do so.

If I offended you paxx that was not my intention but I do have the right to express my opinion and that is what it was at the time.

Here is a good link to who imports oil from where:

I'm not going to touch the "oil for blood" issue. It's best to read the facts for yourself.

or, make it so there are two nukes, one you get to use on others and the other one gets hidden in some city of your nation and it goes POP when the other one is used...

"becase there is another country called Canada."

Yes, and I've lived there before. Granted, not exactly -legally- but... ahem, that's a different story anyway.

It was just a clarification however - here in the US, 9 times out of 10 'America' means USA. When we refer to the continents, we'll either say North America, or South America - or if we're referring to the American countries "The Americas" (Of course, there's Central America too.)

Just one of the many, many confusing nuances about the English language. ^_^

With the many thousands of Nukes that we have in our arsenal, we have used only two.

Don't you think that if the USA wanted to dominate the rest of the world, we would just nuke the hell out of it?

We would love nothing more than to see Iraq as a flourishing country that respects its people as much as we respect them. Do not try and change my words around. We do not repsect the tyranical leadership that is in that country torturing and murdering it's own and other countries people. And that is who we are dealing with. Unfortunately there are the likes of France and Germany, and other unnamed countries that prefer to deal with that leadership by providing it the means to carry out it's crimes against mankind. Personally, I think those countries that provide the means and methods are just as guilty.

When I went to the USA the gave me a green paper to fill that asked me questions like:
"Are you going to kill the president of the USA during your visit?"
"Are you going to do something Ilegal while your visit?"
"Are you going to sell/buy drugs during your visit?"
"Are you carriying weapons?"
"Did you take any part an the acts during 1939-1945?"
"Which part?"

Do you thing anyone is going to fill that stuff against it's own person???
Do your inmigration department have brain???

Worst, if you fill it like a joke they take you out of USA in the fist plane that takes off to your country!!!

If the people of the US are called by everyone as "Americans" why wouldn't we call the US "America"? How else are we supposed to refer to it? United? "The States"? What?

Don't be stupid, if you touch any civilizated country all the rest will kick you out of the planet. China has a biggest army thats why you don't defend human right there, for US all depends on who is more powerful, not who is braking the laws.

Damn the US for letting people immigrate and sending them back to their original country if they take legal documents as a joke. Think about it, alo_cmr.

I need get a good laugh out of that post, though

If the US is so bad, why are there so many people here from other countries? Why have I gotten 200+ resumes from people over here on *work* visas wanting a job? I guess I must be missing something.

Well, I am removing myself from the boards.

I have much more important things to do: like go home and take care of my daughter who is sick.

I have many argentinian friends and the call you "yankis" or "estadounidenses" and a friend of mine who was from there called the country "the states".

Only because your companies pay much more money for fewer knowledgements. (is that last word correct?)

United Statians.

Aren't we all Americans in America?

Alo, since you're fixated on this point, one can accurately call the United States of America the United States or America sinply because that's the name. Again, there is also the United States of Mexico, but no one seems to think when people refer to the US that they're talking about Mexico because people refer to Mexico as Mexico.

When the name US of A was adopted, neither Canada or Mexico was an independent nation and as far as I know, no one else in the Western Hemisphere was vying for the title. Call the Americas as it used to be called then, The New World. But it's frankly a rather baseless argument to ignore the legal name of a country because you don't like it and aver that it's geographically inaccurate.

alo_cmr, I wouldn't say anything but want to point something out to you that you seem to have missed...

I ICBM from the United States with 7 war heads, take 1 war head and you have something that is over 100 times stronger than what was used twice in WWII... now, you have at *least* 7 in which ICBM, each one once the ICBM enters space deploys and starts tracking to its target, that is 7 targets that will be vaporized... it is silly to think that if the USA went off it;s rocker that anyone could do anything about it, in the end the world would be destroyed period..

That is one of the main factors holding back Nuclear war... The USA alone has enough nukes to cook this planet so nothing could live on it....

Did you know the Hydrogen bomb used and tested at Bimini, blown up under water was 1000 times stronger than either of the ones used in WWII? 1000 times!

anyway...

If the USA went wackybobo with Nukes no one and I mean exactly that, non one could stop it...

scary...

I don't like US people to be called americans because is despective to the rest of american people, and is not my feeling/thought is the ones form people I know from Mexico, Canda, Argentina, Chile, and Colombia. Maybe there are more, maybe not, but they feel bad when USA is called America.
