Audio Suggestion

Hello,

I can not stress enough how important great audio is to the success of a game title.

The new explosions are cool but they sound small no BOOM to them. I like Company of Heroes Audio because the explosions sound like explosions. They have base and thump my chest when they go off. I love the game but the sound is small and feeble.

A game is better with punchy audio that one can feel as they play.

When I make a kill I want to hear a BOOM! Add some base punch to the sound file or something.

When my units move out the engine sounds even when I am zoomed all the way in don't scream "I am a machine of WAR and I am comming to kill you!"

Part of why spme great games fail is attributed to weak or just bad audio, so please beef up the sounds of WAR in Ashes. You have a fantastic game here, don't cheese it up with sensitivity training audio. Give it offensive loud extroverted angry audio ;)

I brought this up on the Steam forums and a lot of players agree:

Think about it for a bit and maybe play a game of Company of Heroes 2 and listen to those explosive weapon/vehicle sounds. They are loud, have punch, and that franchise is doing very well still after a lot of years.

I am a loyal Ashes Founder and I hope you hear my plea (again no pun intended),

I must say I agree here. The audio has a ways to go and the suggestions and comparison seem valid to me.

On a related note, I don't hear much, if any, sound at certain zoom levels. There is a certain zoom level where all seems quiet and a single click takes me to a higher audio volume level than I anticipate or feel comfortable with. It's a bit jarring. I would like to see the scaling of the audio level on zoom level be more smooth. I hope that makes sense!

I am very disappointed only one person posted here.

Have any of the developers heard war before?

It is hellishly, terrifyingly loud with thumps and booms that you can feel from your chest to your soul.

Even small arms scream death.

The pew pew sounds of Ashes are taking away a great deal from the overall appeal for the game.

I want Ashes to be great and the audio is it's weakest aspect.

I am not talking about the music, which is fantastic, just the weapon firing/hitting sounds are very timid.

I have a subwoffer that is barely utilized by current battle sounds in Ashes zoomed all the way in. Almost every weapon needs more initial punch and the explosions need to bounce my speakers up off the table.

Come on audio team go for it! ;)
