Tried out the Substrate - new AI enemy cloaking abilities?
So I spent a few games today learning the substrate vs AI PHC. Here are a few things I found:
- BIGGEST issue: The PHC AI keeps moving their dreads out of sight of my forces which cause my forces to ignore them and die. I had forces walk right through my defences and armies and take out my base because they were untouchable. My units just sit there and do nothing. I couldn't even micro them to tell them to attack. They would start to move, the enemy would disappear, and they would stop and sit there doing nothing and die.
I think this new cloaking technology that the AI players have is a little OP.
- It didn't take me long to figure out the need for capacitors.

- AI spams orbital abilities at higher levels even to the detriment of their own forces. My armies end up being fleets of dreads because anything less is dead.
- Terrain causes all kinds of site issues which cause all kinds of attacking issues. Our units should be able to see up a hill and shoot at things over the hill with radar support. At least that makes sense to me.
It is very frustrating to watch the enemy walk through your armies that are looking them in the face and letting themselves die like that.
I'm loving this game and very happy with the progress so far. Great game imo. I'm looking forward to the future of Ashes.
