Two streams, seven viewers

I popped on Twitch hoping to see a lot of streaming hype for Ashes. Saw two streams and seven total viewers. I'm sure it was much busier earlier, but I didn't expect the hype to drop this low so quickly. What's going on?

RTS games have never had high exposure in my experience. Even Total War, which has a large fanbase, barely competes with the action packed drama of fps or moba games. 

 

Plus it is a Thursday when it launched. Maybe today or this weekend it'll fair a bit better.

Day 1 seems like a good time to be playing the game instead of watching it.

There were several AMD sponsored streams last night that had a varied amount of viewers. Quill18 had a great stream yesterday as well.

There's more set for the next few days.

Yeah, Quill had over 1000 users watching his Steam of the game and I think Brads stream had up to a couple hundred.

I wouldn't expect huge numbers though for an RTS, especially as it is not a sequel.
