My comments and review of the game

Comments and ideas for improvements
I am a avid rts gamer and my "base ideas" comes from playing most rts games of different scales like DOW, DOW2, SupCom, starcraft 1 and 2. The idea of this game is good and i like the road-map forward. The game plays out decent in mp but could be great.
For me the issue is the slow pace/movement. Due to the slow movement it feels that my tactical but especially strategic options are too limited, especially due to the 1v1 map sizes. At the moment it feels like the only strategic options are based around build-order and spamming correct units since the skill cap on harassing and map presence is to low. Maybe not skill-cap but perhaps not enough options. For me the game basically plays out as a-moving small groups to the side lanes followed by spamming units towards the big battle. I saw a game on stream today where one person gained a upper hand after 5 minutes which slowly escalated all game (a 20 minute game sort of) and who would win was never in doubt. I will admit that I haven't played the game enough yet and that I might be missing something:)
A problem which comes from the above mentioned issue is that the game is decided to quickly. As long as one person gains a slight eco upper hand and neither side mess up their unit "spam" the game is decided pretty early. Its basically just a grindfest to the inevitable end. The possibility to come back due to skill or strategy needs to be improved, some kind of increased skill cap. It could perhaps be fixed by increasing the small units movement. which would speed up harassment strategies (and big armies switching direction.) It could also be advantageous with som kind of army configuration options.
Both ideas would require new, and bigger maps... I think. Some people want more hero units. I kinda like the current amount. To good hero units makes comeback even harder to achieve, it is already almost impossible to comeback.
Anyway, keep up the good work:)

I find that some units are natural counters for some units, and some unit work well with others. I've won some battles using a large army made up of nothing but brutes and rocket frigates. Even dreadnoughts have fallen to such an army. In many ways, it is a game of rock paper scissors. Having the right mix of units for the job can make all the difference.

Then again, I still play against easy AIs on skirmish maps. I haven't been playing all that long.

It depends on the dreadnought, some are designed to counter frigates, others are designed to counter dreadnoughts and are absolutely useless against groups of frigates.
