Improve the mini-map and event alerts?

It's tough to keep track of all that is going on in a big game, and I find the mini-map to be lacking. It's also helpful to receive clear notifications of a base or units under attack as well as a better depiction of units on the mini-map.

SupCom had a feature that allowed the mini-map to be displayed on a secondary monitor. Any chance we can get that as well?

Two urgente features are to have the minimap flash on announced events and more importante than that is to have a hotkey which jumps your screen to the place an announced event just happened

You get used to it.

I tend to find that I just remember where I left them.

I think only idle buildings and engineers are available in the hud

Trust me, you don't need this feature.

You just drag select you can see the units highlighted

"Trust me, you don't need this feature"

Like hell we don't. That's a fundamental feature in many RTS. There's absolutely no drawback in having more information avaible.

"You get used to it"? No, I'm afraid not. Every RTS I've ever played has had this; it is essential to efficiently and effectively responding to various events. I don't want to have to remember where I left everything; it should be easier to see them on the map, and there should be alerts for letting you know you get attacked (among other things).

doesn't the spacebar bring up a rather large map you can look at to see flashing pixels where stuff is happening?

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but are you implying that pressing space bar to bring up a big map in the middle of your field of view is just as good as having that same map displayed on its own monitor, which doesn't require me to press space bar? Also, I would need to remember to press space bar while I'm micro-managing engineers or trying to defend my base or trying to plan my next route of attack, right? Not that any of this is impossible, but why settle? What would anyone gain?

I don't get it. I'm asking for improvements to the UI (improvements that are standard features in a plurality of RTSs) that would make the game better for literally everyone. These aren't even new ideas; they were all in a great game that heavily influenced this game. I'm not asking for balance changes, removing units, adding races, etc. Why would anyone be against any of this?

I'm not against what you're proposing, but there are already visual ways to see what's going on.  Just suggesting that something already exists in case someone forgot about it.
