Some things about SuppComm vs AoTS

Thinking back on Sup Com FA, I was wanting air transports.. Air lifts were a great tactical tool.  There is a problem with the army system, you can only get one dread to join the army properly.  Try to add more and the create army stays avail. And the movement of the added Dreads sometimes is stubborn.  Over all the army system is nice, But the dread thing and sometimes it wipes out my cntrl grps.. ie 1 2 3 you make via ctrl 1, 2 ,3 etc..  Hey how about flying construction craft?  Loved them in TA..  Guard button is there one? IE I set various aircraft to guard something. Its not the same as army grp..  It was in TA and SuppCom, and Homeworld.. That was an example of a superb rts also.  Homeworld was 3 dimensions which few choose to tackle, but adds a whole new level of strat.  You could easily expand this game to include space battles. I saw your going to be adding naval units eventually too.. Enjoy the game keep up the good work.

Thanks and I agree with what you said.

Over time, we will keep expanding and expanding on what we have.

Wow, ok, I just noticed the problem with getting more dreadnoughts to join an army. I had a 2nd and 3rd dread selected and hit the combine army button and nothing happened. I was able to repeat the cntl-number thing to add the other dreads to the control group, but I still don't know if they ever are really included in the army itself.

Is this a bug? Or is it considered a feature?

As far as i know, there is a hidden unit limit which can join a single army based on logistics amount. For example the answer i got when i reported that "bug" was - only a 150-200 logistics (maybe mistaken the correct numbers) of worth units can join a single army without "breaking" the command group. So i started to make more ctrl group and limiting the unit count in them. It works for me, but i really would like that multiple meta units could be linked in a single ctrl group without this "bug". Mb making some subgroups or something.

End of SethipusRex's quote

By design only one Dreadnought per army. There is also a limit to an army size as mentioned above but I forget what it is.

Perhaps the one Dread limit is because they can provide upgrades to the whole army so that gets complicated if you have lots of Dreads do you let those upgrades stack? Then you would have a extremely powerful ball of death (OP and balance issues). But if you don't let them stack then you have to pick which Dreadnought is the lead one which allows its Army bonuses to take effect which could be quite the fiddle and quite possibly a pain to manage.

I think they once side they would expand the army size limit at some point but at the moment there is a limiting factor which will take time to get through.
