Hope my questions help others...

I have virtually everything available for GC3.  At least for now.  :)

I just purchased & d/l'd:

  • "Builder's Kit DLC"
  • "Rise of the Terrans DLC"

I also have:

  • "Mega Events DLC"
  • "Mercenaries Expansion Pack"
  • "Precursor Worlds DLC"
  • "Revenge of the Snalthi DLC"
  • and the soundtrack

When the game loads up from STEAM, the main menu has MERCENARIES as the background (so I guess I'm in the MERCENARIES expansion pack game) & I'm on v1.8.

How do I get access to everything else??

Thanks for the help!!

Okay...after a bit of clicking around I found most of what I was looking for under the Campaign option.  Didn't even think to look there.  I was under the impression it would present itself more easily.

Your answer, however, doesn't tell me how to find the "Precursor Worlds DLC", "Mega Events DLC" unless those are hidden in one of these scenarios:

Also, the "Builder's Kit DLC".  I'm not 100% sure but are these just more items that were implanted into my current ship designer or is this something available outside of the game or another option in the game?

If they simply implemented more items into my current ship designer, how do I access the letters/numbers and the new parts?  I'd like to build a ship from scratch but when I fire it up inside of one of my games, I still don't know where these new parts are at.

And lastly...the soundtrack am I to assume it's just the MP3's I'm finding in the /MUSIC sub-folder in my STEAMAPPS\COMMON\GALACTIC CIVILIZATION III  sub-folder?

Man...the devs AND marketing don't make finding this stuff easy.

Anyone else care to elaborate to help a fellow player out?  Thanks!

Yes the music is just different. The parts are just there not specially marked. When you mouse over galactic civilizations three right click on it go to properties go to dlc and will see they are already installed. You are making a simple process that has dlcs automatically installed seem dificult. There is no installation but if you want you can uninstall them.

I'm not all that familiar with Steam hence my issues.  And no argument there...even irl I sometimes make something rather simple, difficult.   :|

Thanks for the more detailed explanation of what is what.  I'll continue to dig around in the ship designer to find what I am looking for.  I just think it could have been handled better by the developers (and yes, marketing) to make things easier to find and explained.

For example, the letters/numbers, should be in a category of their own.  I still haven't found them but I'm sure they are strewn in the mix somewhere.

Or maybe even...hold on for this brilliant idea....maybe even an option, although inside the game, but maybe an option to get into the ship designer without  the need to start a game.  AND have all the components available at the start?

I'm still poking around in there.  It appears that when I start a new game to just get into the designer, not all the components are available to me.  I'm sure I'll figure it out.  If I can figure out C#/jquery/css3, I'm sure I'll figure this out.
