Hacked? All my stock gone at once

I was playing a 4 person ranked match.  I was doing fine, but had a lot of dept around 300,000.  I was keeping track of my stock price and the other players were getting close to buying me out, but I was bringing in cash quickly.

I decided to quickly selling all of my resources to pay off dept.

Suddenly.. GAME OVER.. you've been bought out.

I went back to watch the replay in slow motion.  None of my stock was purchased, I owned 5 stock in myself, then the next second I was a subsidiary. Literally the next second, not before I could do anything, or it happened really fast.  There was no cool down, there wasn't even a buying of stock one at a time.  it was all at once.

Is this a bug, a hack, a new feature?

Has anyone seen this before?

 You know you don't have to buy stock one at a time, right? You can just hold down shift and buy them out all at once if you have the money. It's generally not recommended since whoever buys stock first gets it for cheaper (as buying stock raises your stock price), but it can be done.

 

It's always been this way. At least as long as I've been playing.

I think the shift-buy also just costs more money.  But it came in within a few months after early access started, I believe.
