Need detailed step x step instructions

Start10 for Dummies

I had Start 8 and loved it, so gladly moved to Start 10, but it has stopped working and I do not have the skills to figure out why. I need a very basic and detailed set-up instruction. When I try to set it up, I get routed to some custom icon page after I click the down arrow.

It used to be really easy to use.

I second what Zubaz said, but for clarity the down arrow is the download replacement start buttons button which is why it takes you to a site to download alternative buttons.
