See the screenshot, certain maps report needing 6 core's or more.. If you dont get the issue though, looks like HT counts as a spu core?

Huh, that is interesting. Neither Houlton nor Ibex appear in my list of maps. Do you have a proper 6 or 8 core machine? Perhaps they are not shown on my computer as I don't? Game version is the same so I can't think of another explanation. Though they are grayed out on yours...odd
Edit: Just tried Escalation on a 6 core machine and those maps still aren't there :/
Yup I have seen nothing saying that I'm gen 1 I7 and I don't imagine it will have any issues. I would love a game to allow me to justify an upgrade to be honest ..
was playing stellaris the last night with massive slow down late game, slow motion. Alt tabbed to desktop and cpu utilisation was 30 %
in my experience most computers are more than adequate for today's games, it seems parallel processing is a dark art only oxide can seem to figure out.
Houton and Ibex are part of a special promotion we did with Intel.
So only Intel machines get those maps?
Lifetime Founders don't get it?
Interesting, but why do some see it and others not?
I have those maps and others that all say 6+ Cores.
I am using an AMD 8350, so it's sad to see I can't get on those "Vast" sized maps...
I just sorted the map list, and I have access to Zosma which is a 14 player "Vast" map, but I can't play on Nostalgic Desert that is a 4 player "Vast" map...
What's up?
Lol a special promotion that no one knows about, I was jokingly going to say yesterday that there is no reason why you can't play the maps and the map notes must have been secretly put there by an intel sales guy. Who knew I would have been right.
Has as anyone actually tried these vaste maps On escalation ? ashes base game gameplay feel apart on the big maps in my opinion it was better on smaller any way. Some of the huge maps are basically hundreads of control points to capture some of which don't even have resources just put there for the grind of having to micro manage captiuring a million points. if anything larger maps should have less and more defined regions for control.
The promotion isn't live yet and some folks received the "Houton" and "Ibex" prematurely. Sorry for the confusion!
