Escalation Campaigns: Will I have to Beat Last Level Again to Continue?!

I bought Ashes.

I played through the campaign.

Last level was a beast.

I beat it, but it was tough, and took forever.

 

So, here is my question. 

Escalation is a stand alone.

What does this mean for my progress thus far?

If I want to see the rest of the campaign levels (see the whole story), will I have to beat that impossible level again?

Why would you? AFAIK, it is a continuation of the story from a different perspective, and they wouldn't start a new expansion with extreme difficulty. I imagine it will be just like the current campaign, start out minimal, and it gets harder the more you progress.

I think you will be able to pick the episode you play. The original episode is now the 2nd of 3 so you can just skip it.
