Hi all,
im very happy to be a new member of this community to that amazing game!
I want to make some question about my system setup in order to know how i can obtain the best performances in game.
Following main components:
CPU: Intel I5 4690K (4.2 Ghz OC)
Mother Board: MSI Z97 GAMING 5
RAM: 24 GB GSKILL ARES
PCI-E 3.0 Setup: 8x8x0x
Graphic Adapter #1: CLUB3D R9 295x2
Graphic Adapter #2: MSI R9 290(1040 Mhz OC cooled by Arctic Accelero Extreme IV)
Questions:
With the crossfire enabled from AMD drivers, multi-gpu in dx12 no longer works with AOTS and sees only one GPU.
If crossfire it's not enabled instead, dx12 with AOTS sees only the linked adapters, then in the crimson driver hardware tab this is the situation:
R9 295x2 GPU1 on PCIe #3 linked to R9 295x2 GPU2 on PCIe #4
R9 290 on PCIe #5 not enabled
From what I've seen, it seems impossible to enable third GPU from driver except through enabling crossfire, or by connecting it to a video cable but by doing so you get the fun effect of having only 2 GPU connected,
the R9 290 GPU linked to GPU 2 of R9 295x2 and 295 GPU 1 not enabled.
So, I'm trying to figure out:
Explicit/Implicit dx12 LDA Multi Gpu works only with connected cards (linked display adapter...)?
If I had 3 separate video cards and crossfire disabled from AMD drivers the situation should be Primary GPU enabled and the other 2 disabled? This is the dx12 MDA mode?
I don't understand how it would run a hybrid situation like my setup, that is a tri-fire as follows:
Gpu1 linked to GPU2 (r9 295x2)
GPU 3 disabled (single card)
It would seem then that the r9 295x2, remain always in crossfire and there is no way to disconnect it, I even tried to disable the GPU 2 of R9 295x2 from Device Manager by obtaining the video driver crash even rebooting.
Let's talk about it as well, it's interesting, I would like to understand how it works
Regards,
Andrea
