The game crashes frequently, says it's AMD drivers stopping and restarting.

Hey! So I can't finish the tutorials because the game keeps crashing, usually in the same spots. In tutorial 2 it kept crashing during the objective that requires building a Glass producing building and a silicon quarry. It probably crashed on that three times. I'm not sure how I eventually got it to go past that.

 

On the third tutorial level it crashed a few moments ago when I called in my first goon squad.

 

I've also had it crash when starting a practice level, and dropping my first HQ after scanning.

 

Each crash is accompanied by a message from my PC informing me that my AMD drivers, (I use AMD Radeon HD 6800) have stopped and restarted. Yes I am using the most recent driver. I also use Windows 10.

set -force-d3d9 in your launch options on steam

this happened with the recent update.

I have an old Alienware M17x, with

- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU       X 920  @ 2.00GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
- 2 x AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series (Crossfire)
- Driver (latest and final - legacy) : AMD Radeon Settings Version : 2016.0226.1531.27895  ;  Driver Packaging Version : 15.301.1901-160226a-299900E

I purchased the game a few days ago, but could not go further than the 1st tutorial mission, with a crash when placing a mine or upgrading robotics factory.

 

Problem is solved now, after allowing in "Properties/Betas" the "next_version", running now version 1.11.15006 with Direct3D 11.0.
