What am I missing?

I'm confused, I must be missing some game mechanic.

If I have 3 Hype, and one Prom, as well as 6 barrage turrets, I can not damage let alone kill a single Hype?

Yet that same Hype and one Cron can slowly kill all 4 of mine as well as the turrets?

WTH? Help me see what I am missing.

Were you in a long game vs AI? They will upgrade unit HP and damage a great deal, so if you haven't done that for your own forces then theirs can be a lot tougher (keep building quanta for upgrades throughout a game). Don't forget to put nano armour on your Dreadnoughts either.

Barrage does very little damage to a Dread though, best anti-dread defence structure is the Sentinel turret and its upgrade. Carving Turret orbital also very useful.

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't a long game really. The AI always seems to build and expand faster than me but this is pretty early on so I doubt they have all of those upgrades and I'm usually around 4 attack and 3 defense upgrades by the time they do. I tired to build some upgraded sent turrets but the t1's and t2's always take them out easy as pie...

Well, if its been long enough for you to have that many dreads then I expect the AI will have a lot of upgrades done. Drone bay + sentinal turret + repair bay + AA + orbital nullifier can stop a decent variety of forces, you can't really just put one type down, as you've discovered.

yeah as ticktoc said, if u had so many dreads the AI would have a lot of quanta upgrades.

u can also check in the score screen, scroll across to the economy page i think it is. it will show u how much quanta was invested, and u can work out (+/-) from that what level the enemy was on.

i develop dreads quite quickly, and by the time i have 4 dreads, im surely on higher than 4/3.. the promethius alone should have contested the enemy hyperion at least. if u were on similar quanta investments.

also as ticktoc said, barragers suck with dps, they are basically walls, their dps is VERY low. rather build the actual anti dread defence guns(sentinels), they rip dreads apaart, u dont even need to upgrade them. also maybe try heras, they might help ur dreads.. and u can never go wrong with medics, they will help keep even ur buildings alive, u can safely spam medics.. (until they get nerfed)
