just wanted to know if it's usual to have heavy FPS issues with high amount of units. For example I'm playing with a neighboring against one insaine AI on a big map. After about 20 minutes the military and economy score of the insaine AI is over 300.000. Than our both systems collapse nearly at the same time (we're talking over TS) so the FPS sinks permanently below 10 and at least near 1 FPS. At this state the game crashes. But far earlier below 15 FPS the game is unplayable. During this process the workload of CPU and GPU sinking together with the FPS count. So with <10 FPS and a insane AI score >300.000 the CPU is on idle state with 1600MHz with no workload and the GPU is nearly idle. Why do they stop working in this process?
First some data from my rig:
- Intel Core i7 3770K @ 4,5GHz
- 16GB DDR3 2400 CL12
- EVGA GTX 1070 FTW
- game installed on Samsung 850 SSD 500GB
In general I don't believe in unsatisfactoryworkload capacity from my rig for this game cause my neighboring has the same issues with an rig with an Skylake i7 and GTX 1080.
My rig reaches about 85fps on the GPU forced benchmark with the "extreme" graphics profil on DX12. Little worse DX11 and vulkan are working. The CPU forced benchmark is about 45fps on DX 12 with same settings.
So trying to lower the details got no luck to rise the FPS in heavy units scenario. Do anyone has this issues too and knows how to fix it?
